"I've been very impressed with the service newspapers receive from Bondware: attractive, effective sites with minimal time investment. They are a perfect fit for small newspapers. "

Bondware Version 4.29

The Bondware team is pleased to announce the release of Bondware version 4.29. This month's update to the Bondware CMS features usability improvements for site admins, improved content sharing to Facebook, further enhancements to our Digital Edition (PDF page flipper) and a number of other internal architecture improvements.

Facebook Sharing

If you've never heard of Open Graph meta tags don't worry, we have--and we know how to use them. Open Graph tags are a way of delivering information about content to a third party like Facebook. Sharing the right information can have a significant influence over conversion and click through rates thus it's important to optimize this data in order to increase social exposure.

In a nutshell, publishers receive more traction on Facebook when shared data is packaged and presented properly. Articles shared to Facebook now serve up all the related data about the content and adhere to Facebook's Open Graph protocol.

Digital Editions

We have listened to customer feedback on our Digital Edition feature and have elected to give this feature a temporary "beta" designation while we continue to make refinements. This month's update includes drastic improvements in the quality of Digital Edition images.

If you have questions about this feature or need help creating your first digital edition, don't hesitate to ask us at support@bondware.com or refer to this help document.

Improved Design Templates

This release marks a new approach to design templates for Publish sites. Going forward, new sites will always be created with a set of design templates that work well for most customers. Customers can use one of these standard templates directly, or as a starting point to create a custom site design. The advantage to using a standard template is that it will be updated with each new release to support any new features. Custom templates will generally be unaffected by upgrading to new release.

Admin Menu Updates

Administrators who manage their sites on mobile devices will be pleased to find that the Publish admin menu is now more compatible with touchscreens.

Syndication

Customers that operate a network of news site might be interested in our new JSS--JSON Syndication System--which offers the ability to easily publish content on multiple sites. Call our sales team for details.
