The latest and greatest

By Matt Brandon, Vice President Bondware Inc

If you haven't done it yet, go check out the version 124 of the Bondware Core that was recently released. We tried to pack a lot of cool features into this release. Just look at these release notes:
  • This version of the Core introduces four new elements. The Tagged Articles element will display article related to a particular keyword. The Article Picker element will display articles specified by article id. The Dual Top Navigation Bar element introduces a new way to display your top navigation. The Article Carousel element displays multiple summary images/headlines horizontally and automatically scrolls through them endlessly. Don't forget, you can find all of these elements and more at Help->Elements in the Admin.
  • Many of our customers asked for a way to see the number of views on an article without clicking into it. Now, you can simply hover over the title of an article on the View Active|Pending|Closed Articles pages to see this count.
  • Also in this version of the Core, we enhanced your control over the robots.txt file a bit by adding Google Adsense to the list of bots to allow or disallow. This is a required option for certain features to work correctly in Google Adsense.
  • Lastly, you now have the ability to turn sidebars off on an individual article basis. You will find this new setting at the bottom of the Add/Edit article page.

Coming down the pipe

As we talk with customers, we hear lots of suggestions for our software and we try to make most of those suggestions a reality. One of the more common set of questions surrounded the HTML editor that Bondware uses in all of its software and its problems. Well, we have listened to you and are working to integrate a new editor that is used by the top names on the web.

Along with the new editor, we are also going to be updating the navigation in the Admin area. One of the things we hear repeatedly is that Bondware has so many options. Well, the new menu system that we will be introducing will fix that. Once released, you will be able to customize your admin navigation so that you see what you want, how you want it. It won't be long before we are ready to release these new features, so keep an eye out for new versions!
