Bondware Administrator Browser Support

The front-end of Bondware has been tested to work in any Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, Safari, etc) as-is. The way you design the look and feel of your site, however, will affect which browsers your site is compatible with. We recommend always testing your website in multiple browsers as you design your site to ensure it will work for any of your visitors and users.

The Bondware Administrator has been tested to be 100% fully-functional in the following browsers:

Microsoft Windows
Internet Explorer 7.x
Firefox 1.5.x
Firefox 2.x
Netscape 8.x

Apple Mac OS X
Firefox 1.5.x
Firetfox 2.x
Netscape 7.2.x
Mozilla 1.7.x

Although untested, it should also work in Firefox, Netscape and Mozilla on any Linux operating systems. If you discover a bug in the administrator in any of the above browsers, we want to know! Before telling us, however, clear your browser's cache and cookies and restart your computer and see if the problem persists. This helps ensure that the problem is not on your end. If the problem continues after this, notify us immediately so that we can fix it.

We have also tested the Bondware Administrator in the following browsers and determined that, while there are some problems with them, the administrator is still mostly functional:

Microsoft Windows
Internet Explorer 6.x (many images with transparent backgrounds do not show up properly)
Opera 9.x (the HTML editor does not support Opera)

Apple Mac OS X
Safari 2.x (the HTML editor does not support Safari, and the drop-down menu has a slight bug in it)
Opera 9.x (the HTML editor does not support Opera)

If you are using one of the partially-supported browsers, we highly recommend that you upgrade to one of the fully-supported browsers listed at the top of the page. If you are using a browser not listed on this page (Internet Explorer for Mac, Safari 1.x, and SeaMonkey, just to name a few), we do not guarantee that the administrator will work properly in it. We have made every effort to make Bondware accessible to any and all users, but some browsers do not support the widely-adopted HTML, JavaScript and CSS standards in use on the web today.

Bondware makes use of some of the newest Internet technology to make your experience as easy and productive as possible. Below are some required and/or recommended settings that you should make sure are enabled in your browser.

JavaScript - enabling JavaScript in your browser is required for Bondware to function properly. If you have JavaScript disabled, the Bondware Administrator will be unusable to you. If your browser does not support JavaScript, you must use a different browser. To enable JavaScript in Firefox, open your settings panel and select "Enable JavaScript" under the "Content" tab. In Netscape 7 and above, JavaScript cannot be disabled. In Internet Explorer, click on Tools -> Internet Options, select the Security tab, click on "Custom Level", and enable ALL options below the "Scripting" sub-tree. In Safari, click on Safari -> Preferences, select the Security tab, and select "Enable Javascript".

There are also some various things that JavaScript should be given permission to do. These are not required, but will make your use of Bondware easier:

Change the Status Bar - JavaScript should be allowed to change the status bar. Many links and buttons in the Bondware administrator have hints associated with them that will show up in the status bar at the bottom of your browsers when you hover over them. This includes every item in the drop-down menu at the top of the page. In Firefox, open Preferences and select Content. Beside "JavaScript" click the "Advanced" button and select "Change status bar text." In Netscape, open Preferences and select Advanced->Scripts. Select "Change status bar text". In Internet Explorer, follow the instructions for enabling JavaScript. In Safari this cannot be disabled, but Safari's support of this feature is sketchy.

Disable or replace context menus - JavaScript should be allowed to edit the options available in the menu that displays when you right-click on something. In Firefox and Netscape, follow the instructions above and select "Disable or replace context menus." In Internet Explorer, follow the instructions for enabling JavaScript. In Safari this cannot be disabled.

Hide the status bar - JavaScript should be allowed to hide the status bar in windows that Bondware opens. In Firefox and Netscape, follow the instructions above and select "Hide the status bar". In Internet Explorer, click on Tools -> Internet Options, select the Security tab, click on "Custom Level", and enable "Allow websites to open windows without address or status bars" underneath the "Miscellaneous" sub-tree.

Move or resize existing windows - JavaScript should be allowed to move and resize windows that Bondware opens. In Firefox and Netscape, follow the instructions above and select "Move or resize existing windows." In Internet explorer, follow the instructions for enabling JavaScript. In Safari, this cannot be disabled.

Be sure to restart your browser after changing any settings. If you're using one of the fully-supported browsers and have followed all of our settings recommendations, Bondware will perform excellently!
